As a volunteer befriender, you will spend time with adults who have learning disabilities and sight loss, offering companionship and encouragement to help them enjoy social and leisure activities. This may include going for walks, visiting local cafés, attending community groups, playing games, listening to music or simply chatting together.
Your role is to build confidence, reduce isolation and support individuals to take part in meaningful activities at their own pace. No personal care is involved – just friendship, patience and shared experiences
