The Art & Creative Network is a newly formed collective of local community organisations focused on art and creativity. It brings together local creatives to share ideas, inspiration and resources to benefit the health and wellbeing of the local community. The network was initially established as part of the celebrations for all the projects and groups supported by the Making it Happen community development programme. As part of its legacy work, a community-created visual was commissioned for Connected Communities. This was a hugely successful and well-received event held at the Compound, attended by many local artists and creative community leaders.
Feedback from this event, as well as from other emerging creative networks such as the London Road Creative Quarter, highlighted the need for a regular thematic network for local community and voluntary organisations. This is particularly relevant as the theme of Creative Health becomes more prominent in public health and wellbeing policy and potential funding opportunities.
Through this network the partnerships were created for the beautiful community artwork on our Hub windows on 34 Devonshire Road in Bexhill. This display was made in collaboration with students at Bexhill Academy, W.AVE ARTS and Lottie Norton Design.
Please reach out to the team if you’d like to register your interest in this network.
