Groundwork offer volunteering opportunities for conservation and gardening in local green spaces. They offer environmental and nature-based creative workshops and activities for adults and children, including school groups.

Creative, Nature and Conservation @ Combe Valley Discovery Centre
Monday and Wednesday mornings 10 – 12.30
Come and join us for a variety of seasonal community garden and conservation tasks in the Combe Valley Community Garden and wider Combe Valley Countryside Park.
Tasks to include: Raised beds: planting and care, Hedgerow management and care, Meadow management and care, Native Tree Nursery: collecting seeds and growing, Maintaining rights of way
Wildlife surveys, Summer watering of Community Garden and Bulverhythe planting

Conservation Volunteering @ The Bale House, Hastings Country Park
Fridays 10.30am – 1pm
Saturdays, once a month, 10.30 – 1pm
Fancy getting involved in helping to manage the precious habitats in Hastings Country Park
Nature Reserve?
Our Conservation Volunteer group meet weekly on a Friday morning, and once a month on a Saturday and will be doing a variety of tasks over the next few months including heathland management, path clearance, scrub control and hedgerow planting.
A fantastic opportunity to meet lovely people, keep fit and enjoy the great outdoors!

Alexandra Park was awarded grade 11* listing in 2013 which it has maintained since that date. The Friends Group is hoping to attract new members who will help promote and protect our wonderful park,

Alexandra Park Greenhouse sells community donated plants on Thursdays 2.30pm till 5pm and Saturday 10.30 till 1.30pm New volunteers are welcome to join a dedicated team who care for the plants and are on hand to advise visitors on various aspects of gardening.
