Planning is starting for a new community-led hub in the centre of Bexhill that will help hundreds of charities, community groups and individuals deliver essential support to people across Rother.
The new hub in Devonshire Road will make access to essential services and support much more accessible for all the residents of Bexhill and wider Rother. It will also be used as a co-working space with partners such as Citizens Advice 1066 and Rother Voluntary Action (RVA).
Residents and community groups will have an opportunity to help shape what they want to see in the hub in workshops and events to be held later this year. These dates will be shared on our social media and website so do keep an eye out for them.
The creation of the hub is being developed in partnership with Rother District Council (RDC) following an award from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) to purchase the premises in March 2024. RVA continues to work closely with RDC in delivering this much-needed and welcomed community service.
Cllr Christine Bayliss, RDC, said:
“I am so excited to see the plans for the Bexhill community hub moving forward. This is a real win-win for the town, helping our residents to access key services in a central place and contributing to the regeneration of Devonshire Road. We are looking forward to working in partnership with RVA on this and all its other work to support our voluntary and community groups, and social enterprises in Rother.
