Rother Community Network Marketplace and Open Mic Event

Tuesday 1st March 2022

Robertsbridge Village Hall

   10.00 am – 12.30 pm

Rother Community Network events are hosted by Rother Voluntary Action (RVA). They provide opportunities for representatives from the community, voluntary, public and private sectors to come together to:

  • connect, share information, ideas and resources,
  • recognise, value and build on strengths
  • identify shared agendas, challenges and solutions,
  • celebrate success and learn from experience.

The next network event will be held on Tuesday, 1st March 2022 at Robertsbridge Village Hall and will include:

  • a marketplace, showcasing local community groups and organisations and
  • an open mic opportunity to promote services and groups or give a shout out for information or support.

If you are involved in the community in Rother, either as a paid worker or volunteer, why not join us for this free event.

If you would like more information, please contact Teresa on her email:

What we do

Our core work aside from the projects we run is called

Simply put this is our complete offer to you and will include many diverse areas relating to charities and not for profit organisations. We will support you in any purpose that benefits the community. We aim to support; guide; listen to; suggest and act as your critical friend. We listen to you and we listen to Funders, we listen to local and national government to identify trends, we influence Policy and Strategy.

The customer journey from initial contact with RVA will be different for each client and our advice will be tailor made to help you until the end of your journey or when you no longer need our support.

We will act as your ‘critical friend’ when we suggest the options for your legal status. Following your set up, constitution, appointment of Trustees and Bank Account we will begin to work with you to produce a really comprehensive Project (or Business) plan. We will make suggestions around the wording of your plan so that it accurately reflects your intentions and how you will go about it. This will help with any Funding Bids. We will never write a funding bid for you as we believe you are the one with the passion to sell your project, but we will look over any funding bids and make suggestions if you would like us to.

There are many considerations if you are to set up and run your project effectively. Funders will want to know if you have consulted the community, to ensure there is a gap, a need. They will want to establish that your project is sustainable. We can help with ideas around consultations, support from the community, how to market yourselves and how to measure the impact of your work for monitoring purposes.

Where you identify gaps in your knowledge we will support you through training and workshops. We will advertise for you on our social media and Newsletters. We invite you to Network Events.

We will do WITH you and not TO you
