Culture Shift Chair and Trustee/s

Call out for new chair and trustees – Deadline Extended to 16th January 2022

Our current Chair is about to step down and therefore we are looking for new Trustees and a Chair to bring new and complementary skills and experience. We are working towards greater diversity on our board and we welcome people with lived experience of the challenges many of our beneficiaries face be that mental health, disability or hardship. We also welcome skills in the areas of digital, marketing, HR, legal, community development.

Rother District Citizens Advice Bureau – Treasurer

Rother District Citizens Advice Bureau provides free, independent and confidential advice to members of our local community. We help people to solve their problems on issues such as housing, relationships and access to benefits. We work through trained volunteers, supported by a team of paid staff. We are a small charity with our own Board of trustees, but we are also a member of the national network of Citizens Advice Bureaux.

We are looking for new trustees, including a new Treasurer. You will work with the other trustees to plan strategy and monitor our financial health. You will also guide the charity in maintaining proper financial governance and procedures. The role requires some knowledge of financial systems and you would present the management accounts at Board meetings.

This role is voluntary and unpaid, but reasonable expenses can be claimed.

Our office is in Bexhill but we serve the whole of Rother District in East Sussex. Currently most meetings are held online.

Volunteer Health Walk Leaders

Health walks are free one hour group walks designed to help people to gradually build their health and fitness with a regular walking habit. All our walks are led by trained volunteers. If you enjoy walking and would like to help people in your community to improve their health, would you like to join the team in Bexhill, Battle, Fairlight, Rye or Sidley?

No previous experience is required, a friendly and supportive nature is the most important thing. Free training is provided and we supply all the maps and equipment.

Bexhill Music Centre

Looking for a warm individual to manage our weekly music centre evening. Duties will include greeting parents and children and directing them to the correct room, a little minor first-aid if needed, and selling tea and other drinks and merchandise. We will need you to have some basic first aid training and an enhanced DBS check before you start.
