Rother Food Partnership Project leader

-fixed term post 1-year funding

Salary: £15,600 21hrs per week (26k FTE)

Base: RVA Bexhill (with COVID-19 restrictions in place working from home is likely,

when guidance changes this role will be based at our office in Bexhill)

 

 

Project aims

The aim of the project is to establish a fully functioning and sustainable food partnership/network in Rother which focuses on all elements of food security, including food poverty, food waste and local/community food production and distribution.

The project will fulfil this aim through the following objectives:

To manage, empower, motivate and develop partnerships and volunteers

  • Undertake stakeholder analysis and engagement to ensure that the right people are around the table, and lead meetings and communications between partners
  • Agree a strategy/action plan for establishing the partnership/network which is co-produced with members from the local community. Leading on the development of the local food partnership – growing the membership to ensure it has cross-sector representation
  • Establish governance and structure, agreeing Terms of Reference etc
  • Undertake training needs analysis for partners and work with training providers to meet those needs
  • Act as a link between the Rother food partnership, other Food Partnerships in the county and the East Sussex Healthy Weight partnership and its whole system plan
  • Develop project plans, setting delivery milestones and ensuring that up-to-date and accurate records are kept
  • Ensure that funding and monitoring reports are submitted on time
  • Build effective partnerships with external organisations at a local, regional, national level
  • Communicate about the work including producing content for print, web and social media
  • Work with staff, volunteers and stakeholders to evaluate performance and identify areas for improvement
  • Explore sustainability routes for the Network eg by establishing funding opportunities and exploring potential for own charitable status
  • Work with network members to secure funding and resources for ongoing work
  • Co-ordinate whole network learning and training
  • At all times to maintain the complete confidentiality of the material and information possessed and adhere to the policies and legislation regarding data and information security and confidentiality
  • Comply with RVA policies, work to our values and demonstrate on-going continuous development

Person Spec

We are looking for someone who is passionate that a transition to a healthy, sustainable and more equitable food system is possible locally in Rother by driving forward partnerships with local businesses, policy makers, local authorities and the charity sector. We are looking for someone who excels at working in partnership with a wide range of people and organisations.

 

Essential Desirable
Experience
• Experience of collaborating and working in

partnership with different types of organisations

• Project Management experience (set up,

delivery and review)

• Experience of running a marketing campaign including campaign messages and materials

Experience of working / volunteering for a

food organisation

 

Abilities
·        Strong interpersonal and communication skills and confidence in dealing with a wide range of people at all levels

·        Excellent levels of accuracy in data entry and record keeping

·        Car driver and regular access to a car

• An understanding of the challenges and

complexities around food waste reduction

• Knowledge around a community

development approach that embeds an ethos

of working with people and communities to

create their own solutions (ABCD)
