Workshops for professionals and volunteers working with children, families and/or offenders;

  • Improve your understanding about the impact of imprisonment upon families, and how to respond to the support needs of prisoners’ families.
  • Explore the family’s experience through the offenders’ journey and increase knowledge of the criminal justice system.

 

Hidden Sentence: A lively, interactive workshop providing an insight into the issues facing prisoners’ families. You will gain new understanding, new skills and a range of strategies and practical resources to help you support children and families. Cost: £40

Working with Families of Sex Offenders: Exploring the impact of sex offending on the family members of perpetrators, defining ‘sex offending’ and ‘grooming’ and how it affects families and professionals, reasons for denial, ways of talking to children and restrictions on sex offenders and their families. East Sussex family support activities

‘Families Connected’ is a programme of free family activities with an opportunity for prisoners’ families to meet others in the same situation.

‘Hidden Voices’: A programme of arts activities using film, poetry, music as a platform for young people and adults experiencing family imprisonment to tell their story.

Eastbourne and Hastings: We have monthly and fortnightly drop in advice and peer support sessions. Contact Kanna for more information.

Court Support Service: Support is available for defendant’s families in the Sussex courts.
