RVA has teamed up with an umbrella organisation called SELCS (South East Language and Culture Services) to carry out DBS checks.  They can perform checks remotely online via Zoom, WhatsApp, or Facetime for example, as well as face-to-face appointments.  Please contact Pauline directly on 07840 794595 or Zoe on 07840 794777 to arrange a suitable date and time with either of them.

Below is a list of documents SELCS need to see when you meet:

  • Current passport
  • Current driving licence
  • A bank statement or utility bill that is less than 3 months old.

If you don’t have one or more of the above, they can accept an original birth certificate, marriage certificate, council tax bill or more bank statements or utility bills, less than 3 months old. But one of the 3 items must be a formal letter, bank statement, utility bill that is less than 3 months old and has your name and address on it.  it cannot be a printed statement downloaded from your online banking.

They will ask for your National Insurance number, but they won’t need to see evidence of that. They will also ask you if you have changed any of your names since birth and if you have, they will need the month and year of your name changes. They will also ask you for 5 years address history, including the months and years you moved if applicable. Again, they don’t need to see evidence of your address changes.

You will be required to join the Update Service and they will give you details of how to go about this.

There is a small fee for the DBS checking and Update Service, please enquire on application.

If you have any questions or queries or would like further information, please contact either SELCS at  info@selcs.co.uk  or RVA at office@rva.uk.com
