RVA is delighted to have been allocated £1.1 million from the government’s Levelling Up Partnership fund.

The funding is part of a £20m award given to Rother District Council from the Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities (DLUCH).

RVA will use the funding to develop a community hub in central Bexhill and to support a mobile van to engage with our rural communities. In addition to providing much needed business premises for RVA, the hub will accommodate other voluntary sector partners which deliver essential support to hundreds of charities, community groups and individuals across Rother.

“We are thrilled to receive this funding to help support the groups we work with,” said Kim Richards, RVA chief executive. “We are really looking forward to working with the hub partners to develop a valuable and useful new resource for Rother voluntary sector. It’s great news for everyone in Rother and the wider community.”

RVA chair of trustees, Tim Hemmings added: “We are extremely pleased to be awarded this money to deliver support with our partners. Through our new hub and mobile resource we’ll reach a greater number of people in our Rother community and be able to expand our support to both new and existing groups and organisations”.

We want to thank RDC for supporting us in our bid to secure this funding.

Besides the Levelling Up Partnership funding, RDC has also been awarded £20 million from the long-term plan for towns funding. Known locally as the Town Fund, this 10-year funding of £2m per year is for capital projects in Bexhill town centre.
