Sexual Health After 45 film series premiere and Q&A to screen at cinemas in Ashford and Eastbourne for Sexual Health Week

The film premiere of Sexual Health After 45 and a Question-and-Answer session and reception afterwards will be co-hosted by equalities charity METRO and East Sussex County Council to mark Sexual Health Week this September.

Amanda Dawes, who has been leading on this project at METRO Charity said:

“Life does not stop at 45, and neither should good sex and good sexual health! Yet, after speaking to over 1,000 people between the ages of 45 and 95 about their sexual health, we learned that many people from this age group feel excluded from services, support, and information. We also asked over 250 health and social care professionals what prevented them from incorporating sexual health support into their daily practice and uncovered that a lack of knowledge and confidence were key barriers.
“These free events are a fantastic opportunity for health and social care professionals or anyone with an interest in sexual health in the over 45s to watch this amazing film series and network, learn, share, and connect with other sector professionals and services.”

The premiere will feature six short films, followed by a Q&A with a panel of sexual health professionals. The screenings, which are aimed at health and social care professionals and anyone with an interest in sexual health, they will also include a sneak preview of the training modules which have also been developed as part of the SHIFT project.
