Loneliness Annual Report January 2020

The government has published the first annual report since the publication of the cross-government Loneliness Strategy in October 2018.

The report contains updates across a range of policy commitments, including:

  • Supporting frontline workers to recognise and act on loneliness
  • Expansion of social prescribing: 1,000 additional social prescribing link workers to be recruited by April 2021.
  • Pilots to help us learn about and act on loneliness in different parts of society

A connected society: a strategy for tackling loneliness contained 60 new policy commitments from across nine government departments. This Annual Report provides an update on the progress made against each of these commitments, and sets out the government’s future direction of travel
