Mediation Plus – Senior Neighbourhood Mediation Co-ordinator

Hours: 30 hours per week.

Location:  Hailsham office.

Salary: £26,000 – £27,000 FTE (depending on experience)

DBS checked required. Own transport essential.

About us

Mediation Plus is a charitable organisation (charity number 1202295), formed, following a merger between Mediation + and Hastings and Rother Mediation Service. We provide high-quality, impartial, and confidential mediation services to empower individuals, groups, and communities to resolve and manage conflicts themselves across East Sussex. We offer a wide range of mediation services including neighbourhood mediation, conflict coaching, intergenerational mediation (Time 2 Talk), workplace mediation and training.

The vacancy

We are looking for a part-time Senior Neighbourhood Mediation Co-ordinator to join our team and support us in our aim of reducing conflict experienced in East Sussex communities. The role involves co-ordinating neighbourhood mediation cases in across East Sussex, liaising with referrers and partner organisations, mediation clients, and volunteer mediators to provide an effective and professional service.

As a co-ordinator, you will also be responsible for promoting the service, dealing with enquiries, supporting people to access mediation, assessing referrals, and keeping case records up to date. You will work closely with our volunteer mediators providing case support and, following training, you will also work as a co-mediator on cases.  As a senior co-ordinator you will line manage another neighbourhood co-ordinator.

We are particularly interested in hearing from people with experience working with conflict in the community. Mediation experience is not essential.
