Interreg 2 Seas i-KNOW-HOW

Funding from the European Union  via the  Interreg 2 Seas fund has enabled us to begin work on an exciting project aimed at helping people with cancer to carry on or return to work as they feel they want and are able to. The project will run from April 1st 2019 to September 2022

It is recognised that many more people will have a cancer diagnosis with the projection of 1 in 2 people by 2030. Many people with a diagnosis will be in employment and will wish to continue to be employed. The project aims to help those who receive a diagnosis to find the support they need to help them cope with both treatment and rehabilitation and continue to or resume work.

The Project has 3 components:

  • The development of an interactive web portal to find out more about your condition, the support available and what other people like you have experienced and done that has helped
  • Personal coaching and support for individuals with a cancer diagnosis to help them develop their own  treatment and support pathways including how to talk to their employer, family and support networks
  • Coaching for employers on the best ways of supporting employees with cancer, including an online toolkit and training programme for HR Managers.
