Vacancy – Action in rural Sussex
Annual Salary £55,000 Full time – 35 hours per week
Based in Lewes 28 days annual holiday and contributory pension scheme
Action in rural Sussex, the charity working for rural communities across East and West Sussex, is recruiting a new Chief Executive to replace Jeremy Leggett who is standing down after many years in the role.
This is a great opportunity for someone to lead the charity in an exciting new direction. To achieve this the successful applicant will need to be able to:
• initiate innovative business opportunities; • spearhead fund-raising initiatives; as well as • manage a current staff team of 15; • advise and support the trustees of the charity on issues of strategy and governance; and • provide the focus for the charity’s policy stance towards Sussex rural and community life.
They will need to demonstrate an entrepreneurial drive as well as a successful track record in management, including financial planning. An understanding of rural community issues will be essential. He or she will also need the diplomatic skills required for working flexibly with a wide range of stakeholders.
