The Queen’s Award 2019
The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service is the highest award given to local volunteer groups across the UK to recognise outstanding work done in their communities. It is the MBE for volunteer groups. Local winners last year were de Etchingham Community Interest Company for restoring the heart and amenities of a Sussex village through the creation of new social enterprises and Pett Older People’s Project (POPP) a social community centre for older, isolated, lonely people, over 60, in a rural area.
