Sport England Active Lives Survey

Latest Sport England Active Lives Survey Sport England release fresh insight into volunteering habits. The latest data from the Active Lives Survey, provides a comprehensive picture of volunteering in sport and activity for the first time. 7 million people (14.9% of the population) in England have volunteered at least twice in the last year to support sport and physical activity. However, one of the most striking features of the research is a stark gender gap, with males much more likely than women to volunteer in sport. The figures published represent the first 18 months of data collected by the new survey, and although year on year comparisons are not yet available, figures do show a consistent picture, with 27.1 million (60.6%) people being active, meaning they do 150 minutes or more activity per week meeting the Chief Medical Officer’s guidelines.
