Home-Start East Sussex Domestic Abuse project – The Freedom Programme

Home-Start East Sussex Domestic Abuse project – The Freedom Programme

Home-Start East Sussex are pleased to be running The Freedom Programme in Hastings from end of September 2017

The Freedom Programme is a free programme for any woman who has experience of living with domestic abuse, now or in the past. The Freedom Programme examines the actions, behaviours and beliefs of an abusive man and the beliefs and responses of the survivor. The aim is to help them to make sense of and understand what has happened to them, instead of the whole experience just feeling like a horrible mess. The Freedom Programme also describes in detail how children are affected by being exposed to this kind of abuse and very importantly how their lives are improved when the abuse is removed.

Women can contact the course facilitator, Sarah Jarvis, on 07505 426118 or 01273 612025 for an informal chat about the programme. Agencies and professionals can complete the referral form on our website or contact Sarah for further information. Ten places will be reserved for women from the following wards; Bexhill Central, Bexhill Sidley, Eastern Rother, Baird, Braybrooke, Castle, Central St. Leonards, Gensing, Hollington, Maze Hill, Old Hastings, Ore, Tressell and Wishing Tree,  with a further ten places for women from any area. The programme will run one morning a week for 11 weeks, excluding half term.
