Highlighting Community Activity in East Sussex – Get Involved

3VA, HVA and RVA – the Councils for Voluntary Service in East Sussex, are working with East Sussex Better Together and other partners  on a project to understand better how best to support local Community Activity and the work of local neighbourhood groups. This activity, sometimes known as building community resilience is of significant interest to those working at local level and a brief introductory video setting out the key concepts can be viewed here:-

How to get involved:

A call for ‘evidence’: As a Community group, you – or individuals active in their community – can submit comments, ideas and experiences in a way you feel is most appropriate. You can email submissions to resilience@hvauk.orgor to the address shown on the letterhead. All submissions should be received by 25 April and will be considered as part of the final report in May 2016.

An online survey: You can also complete an online survey to offer your views about your work, the support you would like to see and the perceptions you have about involvement in the local community. You can find the survey here https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/communityresilienceeastsussex

Engagement Events: A series of local workshop-style event will be in April to invite groups to hear more about the project, offer their views and network together. These are open events and will be attended those who play different roles; it will include local community groups, Councillors, and public service providers. There are two events in Rother, Bexhill area on the 12th April at The Pelham, Holliers Hill, Bexhill and Rye area on the 13th April at St Marys Centre, Lion Street Rye – both between 10.00am – 1pm. All events are free and open to attend and will include a free lunch and time to network with others attending.
